Speak Mandarin Campaign Family Talent Competition 2019
The Speak Mandarin Campaign Family Talent Competition, previously known as Parent-Child Talent Competition, is a nationwide competition that provides immersive opportunities for parents to bond and have fun with their children, while learning and speaking Mandarin.
The competition was first launched in 2013 and 2019 marks its seventh edition. A new category for pre- school participants was launched in 2016, and the revised entry guidelines for the 2018 competition allowed participation by up to four family members per team. In 2019, the competition welcomed participation by grandparents for the very first time. A total of more than 400 teams participated in the preliminary rounds on 6 April 2019, with 26 teams making it through to the Grand Finals on 1 June 2019.
A*STAR Aptorum Venture Co-Creation Celebration
The Aptorum Group Limited, Aeneas Capital Limited, and A*ccelerate Technologies Pte Ltd, the enterprise office of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), have signed a USD$90 million agreement to co-create local deep tech start-ups in the healthcare and life sciences sector. This agreement, is the latest in a series of venture co- creation (VCC) agreements signed by A*ccelerate to strengthen the start-up ecosystem in Singapore.
The signing ceremony was held at A*STAR’s Office at Connexis Tower, and the celebration was held at Andaz Hotel, with close to 100 guests who attended the event.
South West Partners and Volunteers Night 2019
The South West Partners and Volunteers Night is a platform to thank and recognise the effort of community and corporate partners who have supported the SW CDC in the past year as well as an opportunity to bring both the corporates and community partners together to learn about each other’s resources and programmes, to spark off more collaborations to plug community needs. It is a yearly Chinese new year celebration too.
SEMBCORP-EMA Energy Challenge 2018
Organised by Energy Market Authority partnering with Sembcorp, the Sembcorp-Energy Challenge was held on 2nd November at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, which saw about 180 guests from the students in ITEs, polytechnics and universities.
The event was graced by Dr Tan Wu Meng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
ICN Workshop for ASEAN Competition Officials
The ICN Workshop for ASEAN Competition Officials was held on 12 October 2018. It was attended by 35 delegates from the ASEAN Community.
Delegates had an engaging session and ended off the session with a cocktail reception at Bob’s Bar at Capella.
22nd Meeting of the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition and Related Meetings
Hosted by the Competition & Consumer Commission of Singapore, the 4-day meeting was attended by about 30 delegates from the ASEAN Community from 8 – 11 October 2018 at the Rasa Sentosa Resort.
Aviation Community Charity Golf 2018
Held on 7 September 2018, the annual Aviation Community Charity Gold event was organised to raise funds for the Community Chest. Graced by Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress, Mr Ng Chee Meng, the Aviation Community raised more than $200,000 which will benefit about 80 charities.
Speak Mandarin Campaign Parent-Child Talent Competition 2018
More than 100 families participated in the SMC Parent-Child Talent Competition 2018 Preliminary Round on 31 March and a total of 27 teams were shortlisted for the Grand Finals on 2 June.
The event was graced by Ms Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Trade and Industry and Mr Baey Yam Keng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Transport & Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth.
SMW 2018 Thank You Reception
To conclude the Singapore Maritime Week 2018, the SMW 2018 Thank You Reception was held at Aura on 31 May 2018.
The reception was attended by more than 100 guests from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, sponsors and partners of the SMW Week events.
EY Alumni Day 2018
EY people and alumni gathered for the 2018 EY Alumni Day, which was held during the annual global EY Alumni Week. Attendees caught up with old friends and made new connections over dinner & drinks and captured their #EYMoments at the photo booth. Participants also enjoyed an immersive photography and Virtual Reality exhibition by Lien Aid, a non-profit organization focused on enabling safe water, sanitation and hygiene for poor,
rural communities in Asia..
MPA Sea Transport Industry Transformation Map (ITM)
On 12 January, Dr Lam Pin Min, Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Health, launched the Sea Transport Industry Transformation Map (ITM) at the annual Singapore Maritime Foundation New Year Cocktail Reception. The guests also had The opportunity to view an exhibition about the MPA Sea Transport ITM.
To provide opportunities for technology collaboration and adaptation across industry, the Environmental Services Industry Transformation Road Map (ES ITM) was launched by Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Mr Masagos Zulkifli on 11 Dec 2017, introducing 33 initiatives to transform the environmental services industry.
BCA organised the 4th IPE-SBE from 6 – 8 September 2017 to gather international experts and key industry professionals to review the medium to long term focus areas of the sustainability pillar in support of the 3rd Green Building Masterplan mid- term review.
The Law Society Mediation Forum was held on 10 March 2017. Close to 200 guests from the legal industry attended the forum.
The Law Society Mediation Scheme was launched on the same day by The Honourable The Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon, Mr Gregory Vijayendran, President of The Law Society of Singapore and Mr Lawrence Teh, Chairman of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.
Senior Mediators and Associate Mediators were presented Certificates of Appointment during the Forum.
